10 Easy to Follow Tips For Quick Weight Loss
Have you ever wanted to lose a few extra pounds? Are you tired of trying the latest weight loss diets on the market? Then maybe it’s time to get back to the basics. Try these ten weight loss tips and get started on taking off those unwanted pounds today.
Write a Goal

How much weight do you want to lose? Write it down. Whenever you have something written down, you are telling yourself that it is important. A goal is no different from writing down something you need from the grocery store. You’re saying, “This is something I want to be sure to do.”
Start an Exercise Routine

I know this one may sound unpleasant, but in order to lose weight, you will have to do some exercise. The good news is that you don’t have to work up a storm and sweat like crazy to accomplish your goal. You can start by exercising for just 15-30 minutes a day, three times a week. It can be brisk walking or riding a bike. Later, you can work out with some light weights to burn even more calories.
The best advice anyone can give is to start out slow and not burn yourself out.
Cut Down on Soda

This one will affect most people. I know soda tastes great, but it certainly is NOT filling, not to mention it’s bad for you. The amount of calories and carbohydrates in regular soda is enormous. You’ll be amazed at how much weight you can lose by simply giving up regular soda.
Try drinking bottled water instead.
Cut Out Junk Food

Fast food and junk food are the single biggest contributing factors to weight gain. If you doubt what I am saying, I would encourage you to look at the number of carbs and calories in that fast food meal you’re eating for lunch or dinner.
As a quick example, a Grilled Stuft Burrito from Taco Bell comes in at a whopping 79 carbs and over 700 calories! Or a Big Mac, large fries, and soda from McDonald’s will load you up with 187 carbs and nearly 1400 calories! I know it’s not realistic never to eat a fast food meal. I would only encourage you to try and eliminate it from your diet. The bottom line is that fast food and weight loss do not go together in any sense of the word.
Drink Plenty of Water

The best thing you can do for your body is to fill it with water. Not only is water great for your body, but as an added benefit, it gives you a feeling of being full. You’ll notice that you won’t eat as much if you drink plenty of water. Your stomach is fooled into thinking it’s already full.
And if you’re not a fan of plain drinking water, spruce it up with lemon or cucumber slices, mint leaves, or frozen berries.
Don’t Get Caught Up in the Latest Weight Loss Diet Plan

Has this ever happened to you? You start out on the newest weight loss fad and lose a fast 5-10 pounds, only to go off it a few weeks later and gain all the weight back. If you’re really unlucky, you’ll even put on a few extra pounds to boot! It’s frustrating, to say the least.
By sticking to the weight loss basics, you’ll go a long way in losing weight naturally and keeping it off over time. Isn’t that your real goal anyway?
Don’t Skip Breakfast

Eating breakfast is important for any weight loss plan. By simply eating a small breakfast, it will help reduce the cravings you’ll inevitably get during the morning if you don’t. It helps to keep your body well-balanced and healthier.
Don’t Overeat

This may seem like a common-sense tip, but have you really watched how people eat everything on their plates, even though they aren’t really that hungry? Why? Think about how it was when you were a kid. It was instilled in us to clean our plates. While this may seem like a polite thing to do, it can also hurt us in the long run. It leads to overeating and weight gain.
When you feel full, you should stop eating. Another great tip in this same area is to slow down while eating. You will be amazed at how this will help reduce your food intake. By slowing down your eating, you will give your brain a chance to tell you that you’re full.
Eat Several Small Meals

Try eating several small meals throughout the day instead of 2-3 big meals. It will help reduce overeating and the hunger cravings you can get during the day. Try snacking on fruits and vegetables with some added protein like nut butter and celery sticks or hummus and carrots.
Develop Good Habits and Treat Yourself Well

It is said that when we do something 21 times in a row, it becomes a habit. Use this to your advantage with your eating habits by being consistent. Once you start practicing good eating habits, they will begin to come to you naturally. What you once used to eat will no longer be something that you want now.
Next, reward yourself once in a while for doing so well. A small snack of something you really love is great. It keeps you feeling good about what you’re doing.
