We’re going to talk about Feng Shui, I’ll share some home office ideas and then I’m going to give you 7 super easy ways to Feng Shui your office so you can boost your sales and make more money, finally!
Your desk is a place where you should be creative, focused and feel productive, no?

Does this sound like your home office/desk?
- a wrapper from some gross food source has been there all week
- there are coffee mug rings on the surface, everywhere
- papers, oh the papers, scattered in an unidentifiable mess
- a pile of unopened mail sits in the caddy
- notepads with illegible notes scribbled furiously
- files and folders cover the remaining surface
- a dead plant sits on the corner
Sound familiar? Is yours worse than that? Good grief, I hope not.

Let’s get on with this. Your home office (and your desk) is the place you spend most of the day. Some of you are there for up to 10 hours every single day!! That’s a long time to be exposed to this cluttered mess mentioned above!
You must be full of anxiety!! I’d even go so far as to guess you probably have lots of stress headaches too.
Before I tell you how to remedy this situation so you can get more clients, increase sales and make oodles of money, let’s understand something about Feng Shui and your desk.
Remember Feng Shui is all about good energy, positive flow and balance. It’s important to have that, not only in your living space, but also in your working space too.
What good is it if your entire house is all harmonious and beautiful and soothing but your home office and desk are a disaster?
Balance, remember, balance.

How does it make you feel, honestly?
How do you feel when you wake up in the morning, grab your coffee and head into your home office? Are you excited, energetic and motivated or are you dreading what the day might hold for you?
Do you feel nervous and anxious or relaxed and optimistic?
Whatever you are feeling, the energy in your office plays a huge role in that. I’m not even kidding. Your feelings are proof of that.
But that goes for any room in your house really. I want you to take a few moments throughout your day to check in on your feelings and see what they are when you enter any room in your house. Notice them.
If you feel good, fantastic. If you feel icky, something needs to change in that room. More on that in another article.

7 Simple Tweaks to Help You Get More Clients (and make more moolah!)
Before we start, I promise I’m not gonna make you buy Buddha statues and build an altar. I’m not even gonna tell you to sacrifice humans or burn things.
Not today anyway.
I need you to know that Feng Shui is all about clearing out negative energy and things to make room for positive things. Please understand that.
Clean up old files
In order to get more clients, you need to make room for new work on your desk. It’s hard for new clients to find their way onto your desk if it’s full of old client files.
If you have old files sitting on your desk simply because you haven’t taken the time to close up the file/work yet, get to it. Finish up the boring paper work, close the file and put it away.
Clean up old files, put them away in a storage box. Keep an empty space on your desk for new work.
Admit it, that mess is causing you a great deal of anxiety and you feel totally overwhelmed. You’re stuck in yesterday and find it impossible to deal with today.
I’d be a mess too!
I want you to read this statement a million times if you have to: Clutter causes anxiety!
How frustrating is it when you’re trying to find a job from last month because you never closed the file and there are jobs from last week still sitting all over the place in disarray. Oy.
Get a desk organizer or filing cabinet. Label your files accordingly so you know what still needs to be worked on, what needs following up and what’s already done.
Remove the dead and dying.
For the love of God and everything holy, get rid of that dead or dying plant in the corner of the room. It ain’t coming back to life and all it’s doing right now is casting negative energy in your space.
I promise you won’t hurt its feelings if you trash it. Go buy a new one!! Buy a money tree if you want fresh green and alive plants in your space.

Go through your office and find any and all garbage and dying things and get rid of them, like right now.
Take control of your space
It’s hard to feel like you are in control of your work and life when your desk looks like it could be on an episode of Hoarders, not to mention that it may make you feel unsuccessful or unprofessional.
Do you feel in control of your life and your business when you walk in your office or do you feel like a slave, a victim?
Feeling in control of yourself and your work is crucial. You need to feel confident in your business and your life!
At the end of your work day, take a few minutes to tidy up so when you walk in the office the next day you feel more relaxed and not depressed or stressed. As you clean, you will feel more in control and confident.
Take pride in your work and yourself.
How much pride can you possibly feel when you have food wrappers, dead plants and coffee mug rings all over your desk? You are a professional, remember?
Try hanging things on the wall that you love or placing beautiful objects in and around your space. Things you love to look at. Maybe something your child drew for you in kindergarten. Anything that gives you a feeling of pride.
You might also try using some motivational and inspirational affirmations before you walk in your office. A few examples are:
“Today is going to be a great productive day”
“Good things and amazing opportunities are coming my way” or a really good one is this:
“I am a great at what I do, I love what I do and my clients love me and love referring me to others”
Separate home life from work life
Sometimes it’s hard to act like a professional when you work from home and you adopt the same daily habits in your home office as you already have in your life.
You need to separate your home life from your work life, as hard as that may be. Even though you do work from home you still have to act like a professional and remind yourself you are going to ‘work’, but in a good way.
If you want to get more clients and boost your sales you have to act and feel like the professional that you are.
Try to be and act more professional, meaning, treat your home office like a place you are going to ‘work’ at! Treat your paper work and office desk the same way. You have to treat it all with professionalism in order to be successful.
And the award goes to…
Your desk is a great place to add a small award, certificate or even a token of appreciation you received from a former client. It will constantly remind you of how great you are and more great things will come your way.
When we surround ourselves with things we are proud of or admire we feel more confident and take pride in our work hence allowing success to find us (and more clients!)
Hang certificates, awards or even pictures of successful people you look up to! Doing this will motivate you to work harder and smarter.
Get more clients and increase sales
These are just a few office ideas to help you with your desk and your work space. Though nothing is magic and these quick little tweaks won’t bring you overnight success, they will def help you get more clients and boost your sales.
Not only that, once you’ve done any or all of them, you might actually start enjoying going ‘into work’ in the morning and feel more confident.
