My Keto One Month Progress-(the highs and the lows)
On June 14th I decided to overhaul my life. I woke up that Sunday morning and said “enough is enough”. I was eating like crap and smoking like a fiend. So I changed everything. Here’s my keto one month progress.

Sharing my Keto one month progress-the good and the bad
I like to write about things in hopes it helps people or at the very least, gives them another perspective so they are armed with good and bad info in order to make a change or decision.
So much of the stuff I read is all about the good this and the good that but I rarely see hard truths about things. Everything is sugar-coated. I’m not sugar coating anything here.
There’s also so.much.information. out there on the keto diet. Oy. It’s so hard to know who to follow, believe or listen to. I found a couple of pretty good peeps and I read their stuff and make their yummy desserts!
Here are a few of the peeps I like to follow.
Kasey Trenum (she has the bestest yummiest treats in the world!!)
Trina Krug (also yummy recipes)
If you’re thinking about starting the keto diet, find good peeps to follow! Muy importante 🙂
So here’s my recap of my keto one month progress. I don’t want this to deter you from starting Keto at all. I just like to share my experiences so people will have more knowledge about it is all.

My Keto Journey
So to be honest, my Keto journey is harder than I thought it was going to be. I’m a pretty determined and committed kinda gal meaning, when I set my mind on something, nothing stops me.
Well the Keto diet had me stopped in my tracks many times. It was frustrating yet rewarding at the same time. I wasn’t sure I would be able to stick with it because it’s so restrictive, but I have. Kinda.
My Keto one month progress is actually pretty good. I’m happy with it though there definitely is room for improvement.
Keto transformation one month in
So it’s been a little over a month and I’ve definitely seen results. In the first couple of weeks I lost 4 pounds which is great and I now sit at my ideal weight of 126 lbs. I’m happy there.
Though I did also quit smoking the same day I started the Keto diet I’m sad to report I started smoking again. One night of cheating (hello margaritas) and I was doomed.
I do now have Nicorette gum (which have worked for me in the past) so I just need to pick another quit date and get to it.
I was exercising faithfully 5 days a week and using only resistance bands because free weights are very hard to find here in Mexico and too expensive to order.
I also noticed my skin is so much clearer and I have a lot more energy. I don’t need naps in the afternoon anymore!
Another really awesome thing about the Keto diet is that I haven’t had any migraines! Woohoo! The only one I did have was self induced (bad bad margaritas!). I also noticed I sleep really well at night.
So all in all my keto transformation one month in has been pretty decent. I’m happy with it.
One thing I was concerned with was missing out on minerals, nutrients and vitamins I would have otherwise got from various fruits and vegetables. I went ahead and ordered a canister of Bone Broth for extra protection. It finally arrived yesterday so I’m just starting to take it now.
I’ll keep you posted on the results of that though I’m fairly confident they will be good! This is the Bone Broth I ordered. It was the best I could find on Amazon with a decent price tag.
Cheating on Keto-why and what happened
So already having admitted to the fact that the keto diet has been hard for me to stick to, I have been cheating. Not like continuously every day but I’ve allowed myself one cheat day a week to get the food frustration out of my system.
Because food frustration is real (or maybe I just made that up, whatever).
Two weeks ago I went completely off the rails and overindulged. Bad Iva Bad! I paid for it dearly the next day. But I realized one thing. I can have a cheat day on Keto as long as I don’t go to extremes.
And one more small confession if we’re gonna be completely honest and transparent, the other day while I was buying cigarettes I heard something whispering my name at the counter. I was a little shocked. I mean, not many people know me here.
It was the new and effin amazing Reese’s peanut butter cup chocolate bar. So ya. There’s that.
Anywho…(nom nom nom it was so good!)
I purchased a Glucose monitor so I can keep track of just how bad, or not so bad, my cheat day was. This is the one I purchased and I would recommend getting one to help you stay on track too.
So, yes, I cheated but I am not going to beat myself up about it. For me, for now, it’s a reward system for doing a great job sticking to the keto diet throughout the week. I feel that my keto one month progress is pretty good and I should treat myself! :p
Finding an easy keto meal plan
This is something I struggled with a lot. It took me a little over three weeks to get keto meal plans right and I’m still testing and tweaking. My first week in I was hungry all the time and dizzy a lot. I got past that hump and am doing ok now.
My biggest challenge is that I’m a constant snacker! I need to eat all the time. Or at least I think I do. I really don’t. I found that if I have a bit of water when I feel hungry that helps stave off any ridiculous craving I may have.
I know that drinking water is hard for some people because, well, water is boring af. This article might help you get past that.

Summary of my Keto one month progress
So my keto one month progress isn’t quite the report I was hoping to deliver to you but all in all I’m pretty proud of myself for sticking to it. I honestly wasn’t sure how it was going to go so I’ve impressed myself.
If you’ve been thinking about starting the keto diet or you have just started and not sure what to expect, I hope this helps you a wee bit. I get that everyone’s experience will be different and if you are on Keto I’d love to hear yours!!
Moving forward into month two I am going to experiment more in my kitchen with different foods. A girl can only eat so much cauliflower before she goes ape-shit crazy!
I’m also going to get back on track with quitting smoking and exercising again. I ain’t getting any younger!
