When I left my abusive relationship back in 2012, I was lost and confused. At 52 years old, I had no clue what I was doing, what I had to do or how to do it. I started absorbing as much motivational material as I could, and self-help books for women were at the top of that list.

I read a lot. I read a lot of self-help books for women, self-help quotes, and printed out and read tons of motivational daily affirmations. You name it, I did it.

I watched a lot of motivational videos on YouTube (you can check out some of mine here). And I cried a lot. But it was putting in the work and getting through all the ugly healing that helped me become the woman I am today.
