These are the best skincare tips for women I could come up with. I am trying a new skincare routine, and it seems to be working. To be honest, I fell for the castor oil hype and later realized that’s not for everyone, especially not me.

I’m also trying to drink more water, something that’s hard for me to do. I’m not necessarily trying to turn back the clock; I just want to feel and look good in the skin I’m in.

Eat healthy!!!

What you eat has a direct impact on how your skin looks and feels. Skin over 50 needs nourishment from the inside too.

Include antioxidant-rich foods like berries, leafy greens, nuts, seeds, and colourful vegetables. These help protect the skin from environmental stress and support collagen health. Healthy fats such as olive oil, avocado, and fatty fish also help keep skin supple.

Use sun protection every day

Sun exposure is one of the biggest contributors to visible skin aging. Even years later, damage can surface as dark spots, wrinkles, and uneven texture.

Use a sunscreen daily with at least SPF 30. Apply it every morning, even on cloudy days or when staying mostly indoors. Reapply if you are outside for extended periods.

Protective clothing makes a big difference, too. Hats, sunglasses, and lightweight long sleeves offer extra protection without relying only on products.

Aim for about 6 to 8 glasses daily, more if you’re active or live in a hot climate. If plain water feels boring, add lemon or cucumber, but don’t replace water with coffee or soda and expect your skin to cooperate.

Exfoliate gently and regularly

Exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells and allows products to work better. However, mature skin does not tolerate aggressive exfoliation. Go easy, girls!!

Choose gentle exfoliants such as lactic acid, enzyme-based products, or mild exfoliating pads. These smooth the skin without irritation.

You can also make a simple exfoliation mask at home with some ingredients from your kitchen, such as sugar, coconut oil, honey, oatmeal, yogurt, and baking soda, just to name a few items.
