Oh don’t we all wish there was a magic fountain of youth we can dip into once a year to help maintain our youthful appearance? Well, there isn’t, but today we’re going to talk about how to look younger, and I’ll share 7 really simple steps for you to follow.

This might be a long one. Grab your favorite beverage, and let’s get started.

Before we go on, I just want to make it clear that I’m not dissing anyone who wants to get Botox or fillers or plastic surgery to stay looking young longer. You do whatever you want to!

Heck, I even tried Botox and fillers!

I’m just saying that there are some of us who just would rather not choose that route and that’s cool too! So for the women who want to learn how to have younger-looking skin in more natural ways, this post is for you!

We all want to have younger-looking skin

Let’s face it. We’re never going to be or look 25 again, but you most certainly can have the appearance of younger-looking skin. The secret is in your lifestyle.

Here’s where I tell you that it’s super important to

  • drink water daily (I know, I know, you hate water)
  • stay out of the sun
  • use sunscreen while in the sun
  • quit smoking
  • limit alcohol
  • eat clean

Seriously, do all those things, and you will have younger-looking skin. So how about the women who have done all those things but quit and now want to look younger? I got ya covered.

How to Look Younger With Makeup

Yes, you read that right—with makeup. You can most certainly use makeup to make you look younger, but be careful. If you apply your makeup the wrong way, it can backfire and make you look older.

Pooey!! We don’t want that!

If makeup is applied correctly, it can take years off your face. You can find many videos on YouTube on the proper way to apply makeup so you don’t look like a clown.

How to Stay Young-Looking With No Needles

The first tip I’m going to share with you is something I really just started doing in the last six months, and I have to tell you, I love the results! At my awesome age of 61, I still get zits, oily skin, and enlarged pores, in addition to the wrinkles I have!!

I started making my own homemade anti-aging facial masks and girl lemme tell you, such fun!!

It’s so awesome to be able to make your own homemade anti-aging facial mask that actually produces results!

And recently, I was gifted an LED Face Mask that I am also absolutely in love with. Check out this blog I recently wrote about my experience with a red light therapy mask.

Homemade Anti-aging Facial Mask

Here I am going to share with you a few fun tricks that I do and things I use to keep my skin looking young. The biggest thing for me was changing the way I wash my face and the things I put on my face (ie, creams, anti-aging serums, etc). Because I live in Guatemala in a tiny village it’s hard for me to find anti-aging creams and serums so I make my own!

It’s really easier than you think to make amazing anti-aging facemasks at home. There are so many nasty ingredients in anti-aging creams and serums you buy at the pharmacy that they do more harm than good in my opinion. You can make your own homemade anti-aging mask and watch the fantastic results!

Younger Skin Diet

I don’t mean diet like I want you to lose weight (but if you need to, well…), but change the way you eat and what you eat. It is possible to maintain a diet for younger skin, provided you are disciplined enough to stick to it.

It’s no secret that sugar, alcohol, and unhealthy fats are visible on our skin. Cut all that out and watch what happens.

Remember, we are what we eat, so if you’re eating crappy unhealthy food all the time, well, guess what. Your skin will be the first place to show it, and quite possibly your belly, thighs and butt!

Start eating healthier, like right now.

Another thing you may want to try is intermittent fasting. This is good not only for losing weight but also for the time window in which you aren’t eating, where all the healing and repairing takes place from inside. It truly is amazing.

I also just recently learned that when you do full-day fasts, your body goes into autophagy, a process that actually reverses damage to your skin and so much more. Hello, what?? Yup.

Instantly Ageless Cream

I know I know I just said creams and serums are bad but this one is different. I bought this a few years ago and fell in love. It really is only spot treatment, so you put it exactly where you want it, and that’s it. You don’t even notice you have cream on.

So instantly ageless cream is pretty amazing. When I first tried I was blown away immediately by the results. I use it for the crease I have between my eyebrows which I affectionately have renamed my forehead clitoris, but you definitely can use this under your eyes, crows feet, laugh lines, you name it, put it there, and it works!

It’s easy to use, too. I apply it over my foundation, let it dry, and then dust a light foundation powder over my skin. It’s pretty incredible.

This stuff is super affordable (you only need a tiny bit) and is a million times better than Botox or fillers. Well at least it isn’t as painful or expensive!

I love how this stuff literally takes years off my face and gives me a lot of self-confidence when I’m doing a video.

Collagen for Aging Skin

Collagen is hands-down and, without a doubt, the best thing you could take to treat aging skin or maintain its health. It’s also really good for hair and nails!

I started taking collagen powder about a year ago and I’ve noticed an amazing difference in my skin, hair and nails. I notice my skin is more supple and has more elasticity. My hair grows like a weed and my nails have never been stronger. But collagen isn’t just for those three things.

It’s also really good for bone and muscle strength, which we tend to lose as we age. If you haven’t tried collagen, I recommend giving it a shot for at least three months and then deciding for yourself if it’s working.

Side note: I also use collagen powder in my face masks too!

Drink more water for healthier skin

Sorry, not sorry, but I have to mention this. Remember, our body is mostly water, and when we don’t replenish the lost water, well, things start shriveling up, like our skin.

It’s so important to stay hydrated, and it’s also one of the top ways to look young. Remember, we are what we eat and drink, but also keep in mind that if you aren’t supplying your body with what it needs, it’s gonna start falling apart and aging.

And besides, water makes your skin glow!

Get a Trendy, Youthful Hairstyle

It’s no secret that long hair can make women look so much older. There are a few women who can seriously rock long hair and make it look awesome and cool but the fact of the matter is, it really does age us.

So if you really want to stay young looking longer, get to the salon and ask your stylist for recommendations on a suitable style for you. If cutting it all off doesn’t excite you, find ways to style it so that it will make you look younger.

Hats and scarves, if worn properly, are also an awesome way to take a few years off your face! Play around with accessories and styles and see what works best for you.

Avoid the Sun, Get Moving, and Stay Active

The final tip is a combination of 3. Ok I cheated a little but listen up…these 3 things are super important.

I know you love the sun. How many of you gals remember baking in the sun with baby oil (some even holding tin foil close to your face to make that sunner even hotter and brighter)?

Well all those years of us doing that was bad bad bad!!!

Stay out of the sun for long periods of time and if you can’t, use sunscreen or a big floppy hat to keep the direct sun off your face. Thank me later.

Exercise is vital! Get moving, walking, swimming, golfing, whatever it is you love to do, do it and more of it.

And no one said you had to go to a gym to work out. It’s so easy to do that at home now. It’s not too late to start fighting off aging. Trust me on that!

Final Thoughts on How to Look Younger

I should have warned you about something at the start. I can’t guarantee results. I’m not a doctor or health care peep or a magician. I only shared with you what works for me. We are all very different. Maybe none of this works for you, though I highly doubt that.

So in a nutshell:

  • homemade anti-aging face mask – try new fun things at home
  • younger skin diet – eat healthier
  • instantly ageless cream – it really, really works!!
  • collagen for aging skin
  • drink more water
  • get a cool haircut
  • try a red light therapy mask

Just give a few of things a try and see what happens.

Also keep in mind, you’re only as old as you feel. If you smile a lot, have a youthful spirit and energy and simply embrace every day of your life, youth and beauty will shoot out your face like sunbeams.

And for the love of God, don’t compare your age and your skin to another woman’s. We all age very differently and we are all magnificent and beautiful creatures.

mad love
